Mr Michael Fabian
- Michael Fabian has held senior roles across a range of industries in various countries. Most recently, Michael has been assisting start-ups with formulating business plans and more mature businesses with managing and leading change.
- Michael was a managing director at Cisco Systems (the world’s largest supplier of IP-based networking equipment and systems) in the Internet of Things, Go to Market Group with global responsibility for sales and business development. In this role, he was focused on the discrete and process manufacturing, transportation, logistics, utilities and defence industries.
- Before joining Cisco, Michael held a number of senior roles at Alcatel-Lucent, a leading global French-American telecommunications equipment provider, including President of the Industry & Public Sector Business Division. Earlier, Michael held senior general management and sales and services positions in Europe, North America and Australia with an international logistics group and was also General Manager of an apparel company in Australia.
- Michael started his career in Sydney as a commercial lawyer with Herbert Smith Freehills, a leading law firm. Michael Fabian holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Macquarie University)
Mr Richard Waite
- In 1974 Richard took up a position as a Graduate Trainee in Myer Stores. In 1979 Richard was one of two graduates to be seconded to Marks and Spencer in London.
- Following key roles in buying Menswear, Womens Fashions and Womens Accessories Richard was promoted to General Manager Merchandise and Marketing. He was directly responsible for a team of over 400, with purchases of A$2 Billion and one of Australia’s largest advertising budgets. Sales exceeded A$3.5 Billion. Whilst in this role he was selected by Coles Myer to undertake a Harvard Business School short course.
- Upon leaving Myer Stores in 1994 Richard developed a fledgling commercial arm for the Australian Cancer Council focussing on a suite of sun care products. Today, royalties from those products provide one of the major sources of income for cancer research in Australia.
- Around 2000 Richard was assigned a unique consultancy with General Motors Australia to help the company grow non car related income via an extensive Licensing program. Richard was considered by General Motors to be the foremost expert in Australia on consumer Licensing.
- Richard graduated from Melbourne University in 1973 with a Degree in Commerce, while majoring in Economics and Commercial Law. In his final year he was awarded the coveted ‘Exhibition in Marketing’ (Melbourne University)
Professor Peter Goldschmidt Ph.D., BSc.,M.Ec. FHEA
- Peter Goldschmidt received a B.Sc. from California State University (Business Administration – Quantitative Methods and Computer Systems); a M.Ec. (Applied Econometrics); Ph.D. (Computer Science and Finance) and Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching from The University of Western Australia. Experienced in IS/IT, economic and quantitative analysis. He is active in academia, industry, business, government, and international organisations as a researcher, adviser and consultant; presented to numerous international conferences, published extensively, reviewed for international journals and conferences. His Ph.D. dissertation was awarded the 1997 International Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, eligible for doctorates completed 1994 -1996, from the Information Systems section of The American Accounting Association.
- He is currently a Professor in Information Management at UWA Business School, working in the areas of Knowledge Management, Decision Support, Agent Technology, e-Commerce, Artificial Intelligence Applied to Business, Compliance Infrastructure and Asset Management work-flow decision support. He is the Principal and Chair of the company Alert-KM Technology, which holds the IP (100%) of the CMAD technology.
- Since completing his PhD in 1997, investigating and proposing a new approach to support Compliance Monitoring for Anomaly detection (CMAD) in Complex Environments, he has extended this research from compliance monitoring of stock exchange transactions (Stock Market Surveillance) to diverse areas such as CMAD applied to the energy and petroleum industry; asset management in engineering; aerospace and defence.
